Our preliminary assessments are more broad than deep. We fear locking
into a solution before we’ve examined the situation from multiple viewpoints.
Our multidisciplinary team brings expertise in cognitive science, marketing,
psychology, business management, design, training, eLearning tech, entrepreneurship,
information architecture, knowledge management, performance support, and
the social sciences. We use on-site observation and anthropological techniques
to come up with a spectrum of viewpoints to review with our client, and
to jointly decide whether further engagement with Meta-Learning Lab is
justified.
The Meta-Learning Lab has limited resources, and we’re not for everybody.
We’re looking for a few good clients. Specifically, we are seeking projects
that return a minimum of a million dollars in benefits to their sponsor
and also fuel our own research in large-scale performance improvement.
We are particularly interested in performance improvement that involves:
meta-learning, which may involve learning to
learn, selecting the best mix of learning tool, optimizing
timing, deep learning, hard fun, responsive collaboration, leveraging
informal learning, and generating enthusiasm
organizational learning process, to include clarifying agendas,
accelerating processes, knowledge infrastructure, aligning activity
to mission, giving new roles to managers, building learning culture,
and unlearning old ways
improving the implementation of
learning technology, processes for leveraging technology for optimal learning and performance and
applying meta-learning directly to business challenges
